Amethyst is a stone that has long been favored by royalty and by Church authorities. Amethyst is the traditional February birthstone, but is so beautiful that it is a favorite gemstone of many people. Because the name for the amethyst comes from the Greek word for "not-drunken", amethyst is believed to combat drunkeness and still is a symbol for sobriety.

This is one of my favorite combinations: amethyst and aquamarine. I love the way the two colours work with each other especially when they are in the form of gemstones. This two strand amethyst bracelet has one gemstone strand and one charm strand with AAA faceted amethyst charms hanging from an oval-linked chain from the Thai Karen Hill Tribes. The gemstone strand has a pretty nugget of aquamarine as a focal and two faceted aquamarine rounds. Amethyst nuggets and rounds and reticulated sterling silver beads finish the strand. A hefty sterling silver toggle clasp is the closure for this amethyst bracelet.. Personal favorite!

Twilight in the Garden
Faceted amethyst nuggets are a rich dark purple in this amethyst bracelet. Sterling silver adds to the nature theme with three sterling Thai Hill Tribes ros charms and a Bali dragonfly charm. The very pretty toggle clasp is an oval with a bird for the toggle bar.

Intrigue at Dusk
Another amethyst and aquamarine mix, this time with a single faceted nugget of blue aquamarine. The sharply faceted lighter-coloured amethyst nuggets make up the rest of the bracelet with the addition of one bead with flowers in relief and the toggle clasp. All metal in this amethyst bracelet is sterling silver.

Jubilee
There are dark amethysts and light amethysts, and the amethysts in this bracelet are the latter. They are wonderfully transparent with a definite true purple colour. Five of these faceted nuggets make up this amethyst bracelet along with a pretty artist's lampwork bead, Bali sterling silver, and a second strand consisting of an oval sterling chain from the Thai Karen Hill Tribes. The chain has beaded star charms and one special "pendant" charm made of a bezel-set faceted amethyst. Amethyst bracelet is a personal favorite!

Tantalizing
More light amethysts only these are faceted all over the surface of the of the nugget. Four lampwork beads add even more colour and the glitter of the sterling silver dots that each has on the surface of the bead. Two sterling silver beads are from Bali, one has relief designs including a star and half moon on it. Near the center of the amethyst bracelet hang a rose charm and a leaf charm. A heavily decorated sterling silver toggle is the closure.
