Cloisonne Jewelry - Cloisonne Bead Jewelry
Cloisonn is the term used to describe a method of decorating metal with enamel. Metal filaments (wire or thin strips of metal known as the cloisons)are fused to the surface of an object to outline a design which is then filled with enamel paste. The name cloisonne comes from the French word meaning "to partition." Although it probably originated in the Middle East, the French, Japanese and Chinese have perfected this artform. Cloisonne is closely related to the art of champlev - essentially the same technique, but instead of using filaments, the enamel is placed in hollowed-out depressions in the metal which prevent the colours from blending together. The cloisonne beads that you see in our cloisonne jewelry are from China unless otherwise stated.
Cloisonne Bead Jewelry
After Twilight
Named "After Twilight" for the indigo Swarovski beads (with Aurora Borealis finish), this is a combination I will be doing again: I love Swarovski crystals with cloisonne. The cloisonne beads here are a pretty deep blue with light and dark pink flowers on both sides, and of course, gold edging and accents. Four different shapes of cloisonne beads grace this bracelet with vermeil beads and accents and a vermeil toggle clasp. If you like cloisonne jewelry, you'll love this one.

Precious Fire
Two large red based cloisonne beads just screamed for something dramatic, so plenty of gold vermeil and a large cinnabar bead were the answer. A different piece of jewelry to add to your cloisonne collection! Vermeil toggle clasp.

Chrysantha
Citrine with deep yellow merges with the yellow gold of the cloisonne beads in this bracelet reminiscent of the colour of gold chrysanthemums. All vermeil components including toggle clasp.

Charmaine
Sodalite is a deep blue stone that resembles, and sometimes is confused with, lapis, but unlike lapis lazuli, it has none of the flashes of pyrite, just occasionally a white inclusion here and there. Two large sodalite nuggets, and a special threesome of sodalite faceted teardrops is near the vermeil toggle. The focal cloisonne bead is a favorite melon shape. Little sodalite charms hang beside it. All vermeil components.
