Cloisonne Jewelry - Cloisonne Bead Jewelry
Cloisonné is the term used to describe a method of decorating metal with enamel. Metal filaments (wire or thin strips of metal known as the cloisons)are fused to the surface of an object to outline a design which is then filled with enamel paste. The name cloisonne comes from the French word meaning "to partition." Although it probably originated in the Middle East, the French, Japanese and Chinese have perfected this artform. Cloisonne is closely related to the art of champlevé - essentially the same technique, but instead of using filaments, the enamel is placed in hollowed-out depressions in the metal which prevent the colours from blending together. The cloisonne beads that you see in our cloisonne jewelry are from China unless otherwise stated.
Cloisonne Bead Jewelry

Daria This double strand necklace features three large cloisonne beads in a beautiful cerulean blue with pink blossoms on both sides. The cloisonne beads themselves have almost a leaf shape, going from a broad bottom to an almost pointed top. The blue freshwater pearls are genuine, and so are the rainbow moonstone rondelles with their blue flashes. Complementing the cloisonne are accents of antiqued vermeil (24 karat gold over sterling silver) scattered throughout the necklace strands. The clasp is also vermeil. This cloisonne necklace is a wonderful shade of blue!
