Chalcedony is a sub-species of quartz - a beautiful stone which comes in different colours, but for jewelry blue is probably the most commonly used. Blue chalcedony looks especially pretty with sterling silver or white gold.

My Blue Heaven
This two-strand chalcedony bracelet features three lampwork beads from the "Jewels" collection by Burt Gumeson; large linked sterling silver chain from the Karen Hill Tribes, and blue chalcedony finish the bracelet. Little swirl charms hang from the chain, and little gemstone charms of faceted chalcedony. A sterling silver toggle clasp is the closure.

The two strand chalcedony bracelet is heavy on sterling silver; it even has a sterling silver fluted bead with a cabochon chalcedony stone set on each side! The beaded and hand-decorated sterling silver elements are complemented by a second strand of the bracelet which is a Karen Hill Tribes etched chain of large round sterling silver links. The "bumpy" lampwork bead is from Burt Gumeson. A sterling silver twisted toggle clasp is the closure. Good quality chalcedony is a nice, clear blue with almost no inclusions at all. An excellent addition to your collection of chalcedony jewelry!

Chalcedony jewelry does come in many different colours and this chalcedony bracelet with its smooth turquoise nuggets the colour of a swimming pool is one of my favourites. It's hard to find these chalcedony nuggets this size, this smooth, and this very pretty colour, so when I see them, I jump on them. The chalcedony is mixed with pretty lampwork beads by Annie Divelbiss as well as sterling silver from Bali and the Karen Hill Tribes of Thailand. Three hammered circles lead to one side of the toggle clasp and have sterling spiral charms hanging from them. All sterling and genuine chalcedony and artist's lampwork beads.
