Drusy Jewelry
A drusy is one of the wonders of nature! Drusies came about because years ago, molten rock being pushed to the surface of the earth's crust formed gases that resulted in cavities inside the rock. Later, ground water with silica seeped inside the porous cavities and sparkling crystals formed. These rocks with crystalline structures are know as drusies ( sometimes spelled druzy or druse).
SOLDSkating on Thick IceSOLD A large center drusy (druzy) is the focal point for this bracelet made of sterling silver, dendrite opal, ocean jasper, and druzies. The little faceted rondelles with their translucent look are ocean jasper, the ovals are dendrite opal, and besides the focal drusy, there is a drusy on each side of the toggle clasp, a very sturdy toggle clasp by the way. One of our favorite seashell charms hangs beside the toggle clasp also. A nice chunky bit of jewelry drusy for your collection, one that will go with many things in your closet, and add a bit of sparkle as well.
See a simple and beautiful rainbow moonstone bracelet with a center drusy on our Rainbow Moonstone Jewelry page.
SOLDBrown DerbySOLD This piece of drusy jewelry is very special: first, the pendant is made of a brown drusy pendant that is set in silver and then surrounded by gemstones such as pale citrine, garnet, smoky quartz and peridot. A pretty faceted amethyst teardrop is set in sterling silver and hangs from the bottom of the drusy pendant. The rest of the necklace was built around this drusy pendant and consists of sterling silver beads from Bali and the Thai Karen Hill Tribes, smoky quartz, garnets, amethysts, peridot, and citrine in two gemstone strands. Special lampwork beads by James Derrick Reeves echo the colours of the gemstones. Garnet, smoky quartz, or amethyst earrings would look great with this necklace.
