Salvation Bracelets
While the Salvation Bracelet seems to be a recent fashion for those who wish to share their faith in Christianity, the idea of wearing jewelry or using colours, shapes, figures or gemstones to symbolize various ideas in the Bible is as old as Christianity itself. Northrup Frye called the use of symbols "the great code" and it was an extensive code that was much more familiar in past times than it is today.
The Salvation Bracelet uses the code to explain steps in the progression of Christian life. The meaning of the Salvation Bracelet is:
Black- represents sin, which separates us from Christ
Red- Jesus died for our sins, the blood of Christ
Blue- we show our commitment through baptism - faith
white/clear- we are made pure through forgiveness -we are cleansed
Green- our spirit grows with His love and we grow as Christians
Gold- represents Heaven, the streets paved with gold, the ultimate
As with all our jewelry, salvation bracelets come in a grey velour or silver satin jewelry pouch; they will also have a card explaining what the different colours mean.

Judith is a strong bracelet named for a strong woman. This is one of my favorite Salvation bracelets; it is made entirely of Swarovski crystals and sterling silver. The symbolic crystals are larger than the others that finish the bracelet and begin with the cosmic jet crystal on one side and the cosmic golden crystal on the other. The other crystals are faceted rounds in two different sizes. Sterling silver Bali reticulated beads are on other side and the clasp is a sterling toggle with a cross hanging beside it. One of the most beautiful salvation bracelets on!

Joanna is a salvation bracelet made entirely with Swarovski crystals and sterling silver. The symbolic beads (see above) are in Swarovski crystal cubes (size 8mm)with the exception of the red bead which is a faceted round in the new red coral colour. Salvation Bracelet with Precious Stones - Keturah
This is a small scale dainty salvation bracelet for those who prefer precious stones. The greater part of the bracelet consists of tiny little sterling silver Hill Tribes beads. The gemstones are: black sapphire, red rubies, blue sapphires, white sapphires, green emeralds; an 18 karat solid gold (NOT plated or filled) bead represents Heaven. Hannah is a salvation bracelet that is made a bit smaller and on a bit smaller scale; I was really thinking of it as for a younger girl. The Swarovski crystals are scattered throughout this bracelet and in between the symbolic crystals are Swarovski white opal bicones. The white opals keep the salvation bracelet from being too dressy, so that it can even be worn for everyday. A laser-cut sterling silver heart hangs beside the sterling silver clasp. Who was Hannah? Black agate, a deep red faceted ruby rondelle, a nice chunky hunk of peridot, clear rock crystal, a faceted sapphire rondelle, and a yellow opal faceted rectangle. Lydia is a salvation bracelet made of Cosmic Swarovski crystals (the 12mm size) that is also a bangle bracelet since the the sides are made of Karen Hill Tribes curved tube beads. (The red Swarovski crystal is the new coral coral and it is the only crystal which is a round). Diamond-shaped silver beads have a flower-like cross on both sides; a sterling silver toggle clasp is the closure and a sterling silver cross hangs beside it. This salvation bracelet has the ususal colour meanings that are explained above, but also some additional ones using the "language of faith." There are 6 star spacer beads: 6 stands for creation because it took 6 days to create the world; the star itself stands for the Star of Bethlehem which led the faithful to Christ. The crosses found on the two sterling silver beads (a cross, not a crucifix) represent the resurrection. The gemstone cross is a simple Latin cross and probably the most common cross used by Protestants. There are (or will be with the crimps covered) 6 sterling silver round beads on each side for a total of 12, representing the 12 tribes of Israel and the 12 Apostles. The gemstone nuggets on this salvation bracelet are: black agate, garnet, iolite, moonstone, green garnet, and citrine - all genuine gemstones. All metal on the bracelet is sterling silver.

I wanted to make a pearl salvation bracelet and was finally able to when I thought to use my coin and Biwa pearls as well as round or potato pearls. I'm happy with the way that this bracelet has turned out. The front symbolic pearls are all genuine freshwater pearls: a black Biwa pearl; a dark red potato pearl; a dark bright blue coin pearl; a white coin pearl; an oval dark green pearl; and a long, flat gold Biwa pearl. Ruffled accents set the rest of the bracelet off from the front. There are 8 dark grey freshwater pearls representing resurrection or regeneration; the dark grey was chosen to represent life on earth as opposed to the gold of heaven. Closure is a curved sterling silver lobster clasp and a sterling cross hangs beside it.

A salvation bracelet that is made completely with 14 karat gold filled components, including the toggle clasp, and Swarovski beads, is for those who wear gold more than silver. The symbolic Swarovski beads are all bicones in the meaningful colours, and the others are black diamond, a colour which is not black at all, but more of a dark crystal, or perhaps even a grey.
